Description

A fun, no-lines drill that helps players stop bunching by encouraging them to look up, find open space, and move away from pressure.

Set up several cone gates around the area and let players score by passing through any open gate. Because there is no single goal or fixed direction, players naturally learn to scan, spread out, change direction, and use the whole space. This makes it a great small-sided game for short attention spans, lots of touches, and simple decision-making.

Play 3v3 or 4v4. If uneven players, add a neutral player who is always on the attacking team.

Coaching Points

  1. Look up before you move. Can you see which gates are open?
  2. Move away from the crowd and attack a gate with space around it.
  3. If one gate is blocked, turn and find another one.
  4. Do not all chase the same gate. Make the field big and use different areas.
