Description

This fast-paced small-sided soccer drill improves tempo, movement, spacing, combination play and one-touch finishing. By using attacking bouncers around the goals, players learn to create quick passing angles, play with depth, and finish attacks at game speed.

Set up a central playing area with a goal at each end. Play 3v3, 4v4 or 5v5 plus goalkeepers inside the main area.

Place four attacking bouncers outside the area, two from each team, positioned on either side of the goals. The bouncers play for their own team and are limited to one touch.

To score, the attacking team must play into one of their bouncers and receive the return pass.

The finishing player must shoot first time for the goal to count.

Rotate the bouncers after a set time, number of goals, or number of attacking actions.

Coaching Points

  1. Play with tempo and move the ball quickly to create shooting chances.
  2. Create depth in attack by using the bouncers as forward support players.
  3. Move immediately after passing to receive the return ball or create space for a teammate.
  4. Time the attacking run so the return pass can be finished first time.
  5. Support around the ball so the attacking team always has options to combine.
  6. React quickly in transition when possession changes.
