Description

Develop accurate passing and controlled receiving with the sole, two essential futsal skills. Players practise using both feet and moving immediately after releasing the ball.

Divide players into groups of 4–5, with one ball per group. Split each group as evenly as possible into two lines facing each other.

The first player passes to the opposite line, follows the pass and joins the back of that line. The receiver controls the ball with the sole, passes back to the opposite line and follows their pass. Continue in a steady rhythm.

  1. Receive with the sole of one foot and pass with the other.
  2. Play one-touch passes, without controlling first.
  3. Roll the ball forward with the sole to halfway, then pass.
  4. Dribble all the way across and leave the ball for the next player.
  5. Receive with the sole, then scoop a controlled lofted pass to the opposite line.

Coaching Points

  1. Control softly: Cushion the ball with the sole, keeping it close and ready for the next action.
  2. Pass and move: Follow the pass immediately, running slightly to the side to keep the passing lane clear.
  3. Look before passing: Check that the receiver is ready and aim towards their feet.
